I am a Melbourne based artist specialising in working creatively with text. Paint, ink, brush and roller are my primary creative vehicles: Phenomenology and Narrative the theoretical vantage points.
Since the early 1990’s I have expressed myself through graffiti, street art and creative writing. Preferring the urban environment to that of the gallery, I have marked and painted my way across the streets, train lines, abandoned buildings and in community settings throughout Australia, Asia and Europe.
My longstanding relationship with traditional Chinese culture, philosophy and curiosity with pictographic writing styles led me in 2012 to spend a 3 month residency in China. There, I studied under the tutorage of artist and teacher Chen Yu Lian, daughter of renowned Chinese ink artist Chen Hong Fei.
I hold a Graduate Diploma of Arts Therapy. I am currently undertaking a Master of Arts and Community Practice at Melbourne University, where my research is focused on the intersection of therapeutic and public Arts, graffiti and street art.
